Tanzania to host African Diaspora Heritage Trail Conference
In October 2009, Tanzania will host African Diaspora Heritage Trail (ADHT) Conference, the first time that the conference is being held in Africa. It is scheduled to be held in both Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar, with objective of educating the world on the cultural heritage of African Diaspora.
ADHT Annual Conference creates a unique and inspiring environment where people committed to the development of viable African Diaspora heritage destinations may gather to explore trends, experience cultural expression, participate in professional development sessions, examine model heritage trail programs and enjoy networking with their colleagues.
Hon. Shamsa Mwanguga, Tanzanian Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism and conference host, appreciates the efforts of the ADHT to bring together people from all over the world to identify places and phenomenon in order to conserve, document and preserve the global presence and cultural influence of people of African descent, and contribute this knowledge to the world stage of history, culture and contemporary affairs. |
